What a wonderful whirlwind it was to see so many of you at our recent events in St. Louis, Austin, Eugene, and Seattle! At each gathering, our extraordinary partner and Terrewode Executive Director Alice Emasu reinforced our shared commitment to ending obstetric fistula.
Together, we raised more than $110,000 to provide more women and girls high-quality, holistic fistula treatment at Terrewode Women's Community Hospital — the first and only medical facility of its kind in Uganda offering specialized fistula care, social support, and reintegration services.
In addition to state-of-the-art health care, Terrewode Women's Community Hospital advances initiatives to prevent fistula, improve maternal health, and empower economic self-sufficiency among women and girls.
More than 1,000 women and girls have received holistic fistula treatment at Terrewode Women's Community Hospital since it opened in 2019.
This year, the goal is to treat 400 more women and girls, ending the unnecessary suffering that fistula causes.
