It was such an honor to speak with Dr. Aviva Romm, MD, a midwife and physician specializing in integrative medicine for women and children, for On Health: A Podcast for Women.

I'm a longtime fan of Aviva's work. She's a pioneer in natural birth and botanical medicine for gynecology, obstetrics, and pediatrics in the United States, and author of several books on natural medicine for women and children, including The Natural Pregnancy Book, which I read while training as a midwife.

I'm really grateful that Aviva is highlighting the life-changing work Terrewode Women's Community Hospital is doing to end obstetric fistula.

"I think one of the most important things about fistula is that it is completely preventable and treatable. So this is a solvable problem. We used to have this problem here in the US and now we don't."

This podcast dropped on May 22, 2024, the eve of International Day to End Obstetric Fistula.
